Chakra Meditation Script and Recording
Script from May 4, 2021:
I am happy to be leading the grounding exercise and would like to dedicate today’s practice to our friend Kat and Baby Robert, who has joyfully arrived!
I invite you either to lay down flat on your back or if you remain seated to sit straight but without any forceful effort. Close your eyes or draw a soft focus. And breathe. Begin with slow and steady deep breaths. If you know ujjayi breathing, feel free to engage it now. If not - no worries. Focus on even inhales and exhales.
I AM, HERE NOW
I AM, HERE NOW
I AM, HERE NOW
What are chakras?
In Sanskrit, the word “chakra” means “disk” or “wheel” and refers to the energy centers in your body. The belief is that when your chakras are “cleared” then you function at your best. The chakra system follows your spinal column from base to top, so we will start at the beginning:
Root chakra - Red (Muladhara)
Imagine the color red. The root chakra is located at the base of your spine. It provides you with your foundation for life, and it helps you feel grounded and able to withstand challenges. Your root chakra is responsible for your sense of security and stability. It’s message is, “I exist.” You live, you breathe, you’re safe. Imagine the color red.
I AM, HERE NOW
Sacral chakra - Orange (Svadhisthana)
Imagine the color orange. The sacral chakra is located just below your belly button. It is responsible for your sexual and creative energy, for sensuality and desire for pleasure. It’s also linked to how you relate to your emotions as well as the emotions of others. This chakra says, “I desire.” Live your passion, whatever that may be. Imagine the color orange.
I AM, HERE NOW
Solar plexus chakra - Yellow (Manipura)
Imagine the color yellow. The solar plexus chakra is located at your navel. It’s responsible for confidence and self-esteem, as well as helping you feel in control of your life. It is related to your power in this world. It’s natural element is fire, and this is where the “fire in your belly” term derives from. It gives you the drive to accomplish your dreams. The message of the third chakra is “I control.” Go forth and fulfill your own destiny and happiness. Imagine the color yellow.
I AM, HERE NOW
Heart chakra - Green (Anahata)
Imagine the color green. The heart chakra is located at the center of your chest. It comes as no surprise that it is all about your ability to love and show compassion. In fact, it says, “I love.” Let your heart energy flow freely in and out. Be open to receiving the love that is available to you now, the free-flowing love that is your birthright. Shine the love that you are. Imagine the color green.
I AM, HERE NOW
Throat chakra - Blue (Vishuddha)
Imagine the color blue. The throat chakra is located in your throat. It has to do with your ability to communicate verbally. It is where you invite the world to hear your story, told in your own words. The message of the throat chakra is “I express.” Do not suppress your own beautiful voice. Share your narrative, sing your joy, emanate your love through the vibration of your words. Imagine the color blue.
I AM, HERE NOW
Third eye chakra - Indigo (Ajna)
Imagine the color indigo. The third eye chakra is located between your eyes. You can thank this chakra for a strong gut instinct and intuition. Insight, imagination, awareness and guidance are the properties of this sixth chakra which says, “I am the witness.” Be open to your inner guidance. Listen to your thoughts, they will assist you on the right path. Imagine the color indigo.
I AM, HERE NOW
Crown chakra - Violet (Sahasrara)
Imagine the color violet. The crown chakra is located at the top of your head. It represents your spiritual connection to yourself, others, and the universe. It also plays a role in your life’s purpose. It represents union, bliss, the knowledge of being at one with all. Cosmic consciousness and peace are the frequencies at this chakra. It says, “I am that I am.” Imagine the color violet.
I AM, HERE NOW
Breathe deep and imagine a soft white light flowing around your entire being.
I AM, HERE NOW
I AM, HERE NOW
I AM, HERE NOW
When you are ready, open your eyes and return to normal breath.
Thank you for sharing your practice with us all today.
I will close with a Sanskrit word that means “The Light in Me Honors the Light in You” - Namaste
